Learn about the different user roles and their permissions in Insurgent Ink.

Role Overview

Insurgent Ink uses a role-based permission system to ensure users have appropriate access to features. Each role builds upon the previous one, with increasing levels of access and responsibility.

Translator

The default role for most users. Translators can work with documents and collaborate on translations.

Can Do

  • • Upload documents in supported formats
  • • Create and edit translations
  • • Use AI translation providers
  • • Collaborate with other users
  • • Comment on translations
  • • Export translated documents
  • • Manage own API keys
  • • View translation history

Cannot Do

  • • Approve translations for publication
  • • Generate invite codes
  • • Manage other users
  • • Access system settings
  • • Delete other users' content

Reviewer

Reviewers have all translator permissions plus the ability to review and approve translations.

Additional Permissions

  • • Review translation submissions
  • • Approve or reject translations
  • • Request changes from translators
  • • Mark translations as complete
  • • Set quality ratings
  • • Access review dashboard
  • • View all pending reviews

Still Cannot Do

  • • Generate invite codes
  • • Manage user accounts
  • • Change system settings
  • • Assign roles to users

Admin

Administrators have full access to all platform features and management capabilities.

Full Access Including

  • • Generate invite codes
  • • Manage all user accounts
  • • Assign and change user roles
  • • Access system settings
  • • View platform analytics
  • • Manage API provider settings
  • • Delete any content
  • • Access all translations
  • • System maintenance tasks

Role Assignment

Roles are assigned during the invitation process or can be changed later by administrators.

Default Role

New users are assigned the Translator role by default. This can be upgraded by an administrator based on trust and contribution.

Role Changes

Only administrators can change user roles. Contact your administrator if you need different permissions for your work.
